FMF vs. Stock Pipe Comparison

Ooooo....look what appeared on my doorstep:

Oh yeah...its SO on! You got to admit, that slogan on the box sure looks promising...

Installing the header & can was very simple & easy.  You know...this bike is about the easiest bike I've ever worked on.  Anybody else notice that?

Anyway...I've been riding R² today with the new pipe.  Not going to say much about it yet.  I need to ride more conditions and situations for comparison.  I'll let the new Dyno chart speak for itself later this week...and then everyone can argue about it all over again (while I'm out riding).

A few inital comments though:

  1. Sounds nice.  Very similar to the Graves Insert
  2. Rev's quicker and maybe higher (I'm hitting the rev limiter faster)
  3. Easily pulled to 98 mph indicated (before I had to shut down for traffic).  I never got over 92 mph indicated previously.  Also, did it over shorter distance.  I always test on the same street between the same points.

The Powerbomb I.D. is 42mm.  The Stock Header I.D. is 35mm.

You can see the bigger mid-pipe size in this photo, too.  The whole FMF system weighs 4 lbs lighter (FMF = 7.0 lbs,  Stock = 11.0 lbs.)...bathroom scale method.
