Dyno Test #1

Highfive’s First Dyno Test
"It is what it is!" That sums up my first R² dyno test today.
I'm am blessed (or maybe cursed) to have one of the most accurate dyno machines made....the DynoStar...conveniently available to Rancho Highfive. I'm told its a $36,000 machine versus the more common $15,000 models. Not sure if that matters to anyone, or not. Just saying...
These are the Experts: Koweta Custom Cycles
Here's R² all buckled up spinning the drum:

I did "suck it up" and swap the tires out. I put the stock Trailwing back on to achieve the best result. Somebody made me nervous about the D606 skipping on the drum! Started losing sleep over that, you know how it is. The Trailwing hooked up on the drum with no problems.
So, what happened? She ran great! But only generated about 23 peak hp!!! The dyno operator was actually impressed. He was expecting much less....like below 20hp (typical for this size & kind of bike). I mentioned the higher results I've seen posted around the Net (mostly TT forum). He seemed cautiously skeptical. Said, there are differences in "readings" between dyno machine types...especially cheaper machines.
Don't get mad at me, I'm just telling you how it went down. This was my very first dyno test of my life. I know NOTHING about these machines and their differences. So....I don't want to hear all the blah...blah...blah. Just take it like a Man, and move forward. That's what I had to do today. I wasn't real happy with my results (or dare I say "the Truth"?)
It is what it is. So, here's the printout.

For you dyno-experts, he said don't pay attention to the spike in Air/Fuel in the lower range. He could not get the O2 sensor "deep enough" into the stock muffler for a proper reading in the lower rpm range. He pointed out that the hp & torque do not spike in same place....so there is no correlation.
The tech said I am running RICH in the top of the range....so I should try to lean out my WOT setting on my Power Programmer. If I can do that successfully, I might gain 1.0 - 1.5 hp at peak. He liked how the bike ran and pulled without any hesitation. Thinks we might be able to coax another 5hp out of her with a pipe change and some fine tuning.
Personally, I'm not sure how anyone is achieving the 31 - 34 hp numbers I've been hearing. Again, just saying...
For the record:
- Flapper mod
- AIS mod
- K&N Filter
- FMF-PP....settings 3-3-3-8-8-8
- TPS (Throttle Position Sensor)...adjusted to max (maybe 99%)
- 13/46 Gearing with Sidewinder TI2 Rear + Smart Chain
- Graves Insert
